When we moved to our ranch I had the wild idea to get a couple turkeys for Thanksgiving. We went to the local feed store to get a couple turkey poults (baby's) and my husband bought 10 - chicken math is real!
Since then I have been hooked on Turkeys. I love that they are always happy to see me. They herd and stay together in a group instead of scattering. They run like dinosaurs and make me laugh.

Before moving to the ranch I had never farmed a day in my life As a teen I hated being outside, I would even argue with my mom about mowing the lawn and how she was ridiculously taming nature. Adam spent a lot of time on his grandfather's farm and loved every minute of it. Living in suburbia was not a good fit for our quirky family so we moved to the country. We found the best versions of ourselves on the ranch. My daughter Brooklyn found her deep passion for animals and love of horses. I found my love for the outdoors and raising our own meat, fruits and vegetables. My son Adam, Jr strengthen his love for fishing and being outdoors, he can drive a tractor with crazy skill.
Pictured: We celebrated my 40th birthday with a fishing trip for Ling Cod. Brooklyn caught the largest of the day at over 24 pounds!
We met square dancing in P.E. at
Marysville Junior High School.
